Finally a real day off.

Making online purchases feels good at the time. But it's so short lived when a day goes by and you still don't have the toy.


On my recent trip to Florida, I used my mother's Estee Lauder Day Wear cream and it literally made my skin glow all day. So naturally when I came back I HAD to have some. But with the hours I work, I didn't have time to find a place that would be open and carry the product so I had to order it online. I'm still waiting and it's been 2 days.....ack.

I also decided on some red suede Kate Spade shoes to wear for the wedding. Not sure how they'll do because I haven't tried them on yet. If worst comes to worst I can just hand deliver them back to the Kate Spade store and pick out some other ones. Below is "Darla."

But they look adorable and I would be able to wear them again! (Which is definitely the best part)


I've been looking around on Etsy for some jewelry too. I'm pretty sure I want to wear just a single pearl around my neck but I'm having a hard time finding one that is delicate enough for me. I found this one, but I'm gonna keep looking. I have a little bit of time left....

I really do wish I could have stayed in Florida a little longer. It was nice to feel at home. :)

I've been reading more.
Learning a new job.
Recommitting myself to learning Spanish again.

I know it helps when you have a plan on getting what you want. It feels nice to work toward a concrete goal- and I finally have some!


Get in half-marathon shape by end of June.
Budget wedding and pay it off before the wedding even happens. 
Buy a new computer before this one dies.
Enroll in school before summer sessions starts for some kind of Marketing degree. 


Ah. Ambition is finally coming back to me.

How it's going to Be.

Thank you Third Eye Blind for letting me see things in a different way. You got me off my ass this morning and I am starting to see the humor in this new way of life.


I'm making things. Even if it's just for me.

I went on a date this weekend and it made me realize how much life I have in me.

I am new. I am ready to be something big.

Mr. President, you addressed something I've been fighting with for a long time. Where you speaking to me directly? As a young person, who appears to be having a difficult time choosing a career is this what I should do?

My bigger problem is not that I can't "choose" a career. I'm having a hard time even finding one that I can make happen. Two whole months of job applications and I've been on one interview for a retail position that I won't get because I'm over-qualified...

But that teaching position always pops up in my search. "Be a science teacher" it whispers. I've been down this road before and it didn't feel right. Was it just bad timing? Wrong city? Wrong kids?

Where will that take me? I'll have a masters in education and then what. I still feel like I'll be looking for something else. Like what I really want is still out there somewhere. What is it.....

Teenage Wasteland

It feels so good to write something that is not a cover letter.

I thought by now, I'd be working. Even if it was a job I didn't want.

Strangely, because of all the time I have and no extra money I've been reverting back to activities that used to occupy me as a teenager. Like playing the guitar, uploading cd's into iTunes, watching American Idol, and drawing. It's been kind of a good thing for me?

Perfect for a strapless dress... So darling.


We are so thankful for the time we have before the wedding. We are just enjoying the excitement of our engagement and it's really making the wedding feel so special. I'm also liking that I can take my time and get every detail perfect. :)
